OUR SUSTAINABILITY COMMITMENT
Our Hotel-Carmen in Granada is located within the perimeter of La Ahambra, an area of special conservation and in the heart of the Realejo quarter, an area also protected for being the old Jewish quarter of the city. This means that there are urban planning regulations regarding the and conservation of the houses and dwellings that are found here, with the aim of maintaining the authenticity of the of this beautiful district of Granada.
Our commitment goes further and we want our Hotel-Camen to be a place to enjoy, but in a sustainable way that has the least possible impact on the environment. Therefore, we have implemented some measures to help us achieve this goal,
AEROTHERMAL AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM
Both for heating and air conditioning, a clean energy that extracts the environmental energy contained in the air and transforms it into heating or cooling energy.
SUSTAINABLE IRRIGATION SYSTEM
Our extensive gardens, full of plants and fruit trees, are irrigated with the same system as the Alhambra Gardens. This consists of a system of irrigation ditches for the use of non-potable water from the Darro river, avoiding the use and waste of drinking water.
OWN AND PROXIMITY PRODUCTS
We use km. 0 products from the fruit trees found in the Carmen for breakfast: oranges for natural juice, lemons, pomegranates or tangerines.
SMALL AND PERSONAL ACCOMMODATION
We have only 7 rooms, thus moving away from mass tourism and focusing on providing a personalised and immersive service in the culture and traditions of Granada.
CENTRAL LOCATION TO GET AROUND WALKING
In terms of mobility, our location means that you don’t have to use your car to visit the main tourist sites in Granada. Both the monumental complex of the Alhambra and the city centre are less than a 15-minute walk away. And the more distant neighbourhoods, such as the Albaicín or Sacromonte, can also be reached by a pleasant walk or by public transport.
INDEPENDENT WASTE RECYCLING
Recycling system in which we separate plastics, glass, paper and organic waste, and then take it to the corresponding containers.
100% RENEWABLE ENERGY
The electricity company we work with uses 100% green energy from renewable sources certified by the CNMT (National Commission for Markets and Competition).
